Sat 21 July and Sun 22 July

All nominees will receive an information email 3 days prior to the trial date.

All players are to be at the State Tennis Centre at 8:30am for sign in. Matches will start at 9am.

Some players may be required to play Sunday from 12noon or as soon as your pennant match is completed.

draw The draw will be available on Saturday morning of  the competition and will consist of player pools.
Eligibility  To be eligible for selection students must:
  1. Be a full time student
  2. Turn 11* or 12 years of age as at 31 December in the year of competition

* Students who turn 11 in the year of competition and who are selected in the final team must be accompanied to the event by a parent or nominated guardian even if the student stays in the team accommodation.

Selection Policy

Tennis 12s Interstate Team Selection Policy

 All nominated players are required to play in the trial event unless their Australian ranking and/or their results deems automatic selection as reviewed by the selection committee.  Players as such will be notified by the selection committee the week prior to the trials.  The format will be Round Robin with the team being selected from the team selection criteria as listed below.

 

Selection Committee

  • 3 School Sport Officials
  • 1 Tennis West Nominee

Team selection criteria

Consideration of the following:

  • Performance in the WA Bruce Cup Trials
  • Results from National AR events over the last 8 months
  • Results from WA AR events over the last 8 months
  • AR Ranking (taken from Tennis Australia’s latest list available at time of selection)
  • Singles head to head results.  Only over the last 8 months in sanctioned TW or National events, pennants or school events conducted by the school only.
  • Where selection is very close between two players, the older player will be given preference.
  • Doubles results from the last 8 months only, in a National or TWAR event.

The selection committee reserves the right to include players in extenuating circumstances who do not meet established selection criteria.

Nomination Criteria for Trial Event

  • Nominations must be received on the official School Sport WA nomination form at least five days prior to the proposed commencement date of the trial event.

Final team will be announced on the SSWA website.

Excursion Mgmt Plan

Excursion Management Plan

 SSWA is contracted by the Department of Education through a Grant Agreement to provide sport experiences and opportunities for all students in WA schools.

 

The Grant Agreement with the Department of Education requires SSWA to:

  • Maintain appropriate insurances in relation to the provision of the service
  • Ensure that compulsory criminal record checks have been completed on all volunteers and employees
  • Conduct off school site activities in accordance with the DoE Excursions: Off School Site Activities Policy
