OTHER PROGRAMS

Rugby Australia is a Sporting Schools partner.
This partnership allows us to introduce Rugby to thousands of children across the country.
We are thrilled to be able to teach students new skills as well as keep them active and healthy.
We also connect schools with clubs right around the country to give students the opportunity to continue their rugby journey.

Get into Rugby
is a fun and inclusive program which provides students the skills and core values required to play all formats of rugby. The Program includes a mix of activities and modified games and is suitable for all skill levels.

Touch 7s introduces students to the skills and core values required to play Touch 7s, a non-contact format of Rugby. The Touch 7s Program includes a mix of skill-based activities and game play delivered in a fun and safe environment. Schools will receive a carnival resource to run their own in-school carnival after the completion of the program.

Play 7s is aimed at upper Primary and Secondary students that are interested in learning the specific skills and competencies on how to play Rugby 7s. The program introduces students to a fun, fast format of rugby. Sessions include a mix of Rugby 7s skills, modified match play and game practice.

The Rugby WA Gala Days are a great one-day opportunity for boys and girls to get an introduction into Rugby union in an inclusive, welcoming environment both in contact and non-contact format.  We aim to get as many schools as possible to participate within our non-contact “Touch 7’s” and contact “7’s” rugby Gala Days for senior schools and primary schools. These Gala days will be open invitation.

Every kid deserves the opportunity to grow up strong, confident and resilient, and be given the chance to unearth those ‘powers’ to become heroes in their own right.

That is the aim of Santos Rugby Roo’s. More than just a safe and friendly introduction to rugby union, it is an opportunity for both boys and girls to learn important life skills of discipline, respect, integrity, and solidarity. And it is great fun!

Being a coach is one of the most rewarding roles you can take on. You become the heart and soul of a team who lean on you for guidance both on and off the field.

Coaching is very rewarding and is a great way to contribute to your community, give back to the game, and to meet others who share your love for rugby.

As a coach, Rugby WA and Club will help support you and provide you with development opportunities.

At the beginning of every season, you will attend either:

  • A Smart rugby course or a coaching course.

These coaching courses have been designed by Rugby WA & Rugby Australia to help you develop as a coach and improve the safety of the game.

To start coaching all you need to do is contact your local rugby club or Rugby WA and they will take care of the rest.

Get amongst the action and help lead the charge through refereeing. Pick up the whistle, and experience for yourself the intense satisfaction of contributing positively to a great game of rugby. It’s a great feeling at any level of the game.

“You’re officiating the game that you love, and you actually help the players’ growth and development to keep more and more players in the sport.”
