INTERSTATE CROSS COUNTRY

School Competitors
Athletes who are competing with their school and would like to be considered for the State Team are required to complete the Interstate Nomination Form, found on this web page.

Individual Competitors
Athletes who are nominating as an individual and would like to be considered for the State team MUST nominate on the Secondary Cross Country page, to make payment and ensure they are allocated a race number.  These individuals do not need to complete an Interstate Nomination Form.

No cost for interstate nomination.

Secondary Cross Country Event
$10.00 per person

Please be advised that if selected:

The cost of a HOME CHAMPIONSHIP will be approximately $800 – $1500 depending on the accommodation option.

The cost of an AWAY CHAMPIONSHIP will be between $2000 – $2700 dependent on venue and time on tour.

Travel Model
The School Sport WA preferred travel model for Cross Country is for students to travel and accommodate with their parent/guardian.

Any variation to this model will be communicated at the parent information meeting.

In 2023 three trial events will be held.  Athletes must attend at least one of these trial events in order to be considered for selection in the SSWA State team.

TRIAL #1:
Secondary Cross Country Championships on Thursday 18 May 2023 at UWA Sports Park

State Team nominations
Cut-off date is Friday 26 May 2023.

Team Announcement
State Team to be announced Tuesday 13 June 2023 on the SSWA website home page.

Parent Information and Uniforming 
Date – Tuesday 20 June 2023
Venue – Tuart College (105 Banksia St Tuart Hill), WAFC Cafeteria

Time – 5.00pm – 8.00pm (Information to be sent out once Team selected)

Trial #1:  UWA Sports Park,  McGillivray Road, Mount Claremont

Trial #2:  Manning Park, 

Trial #3:  Perry Lakes Reserve,

A training schedule and program will be provided at the Parent information and Uniform fitting session.

As at 31 December in the year of competition.

* Students who turn 10 or 11 in the year of competition and who are selected in the final team must be accompanied to the event by a parent or nominated guardian.
