Keys2drive is an Australian Government-funded program providing learner drivers and their parents/supervisors a free driving lesson with a Keys2drive accredited professional driving instructor. Visit www.keys2drive.com.au for more information.

 

Country Senior High Schools Week is available to all Senior High Schools and previous participants as an annual event for country schools to participate in Basketball, Dance, AFL Football [B&G], Hockey, Netball, Soccer, Speech & Debating, Touch and Volleyball. See Bulletin 1 for further details

Where can I get more information?

On receipt of all nominations, bulletins and fixtures will be posted on the SSWA website. Please keep a regular check as amendments are frequently made to fixtures due to team nomination changes. We understand that sometimes team changes are impossible to avoid, however, we do urge you to keep your changes minimal so as not to disrupt the competition greatly or cause confusion with other schools.

Cost How much does it cost to participate?

Schools who compete in the carnival share the costs associated with its conduct. The figure payable is $50 per student, based on minimum team numbers i.e. 5 in a basketball team and 6 in touch.

 

All schools will be invoiced prior to the event.

WADL Country Week Student Debating Guide

The Country Week dance component is coordinated by Ausdance WA. Dance in Country Week will involved students participating in a number of dance workshops providing them with the skills to create their own dance work which will be performed to an adjudication panel and an audience. The dance workshops will take place in the heart of the carnival activities (King Street Arts Centre). Team sizes should be a minimum of 6 students and a maximum of 10 students. Teams can be comprised of students of different year levels. Not necessary to have dance experience. Following nominations it may be necessary to restrict team sizes.

Country Week Student Activities RAC Road Ready will be in attendance on Monday and Tuesday with giveaways and a competition for students to win one of three $100 Rebel Sports gift cards. RAC Road Ready helps educate teens about road safety, the learning to drive process and buying their first car. It’s free to join and includes access to road safety resources, as well as great member benefits and discounts. Visiting Optus Stadium is an exciting activity that allows your group to experience the inner sanctum of the Stadium. Students will have the opportunity to explore the state of the art facilities in The Locker Room and see the amazing views from Level 5. Tours are led by our knowledgeable and friendly Tour Leaders and information is tailored to the age of your group.

Book a night out at Event Cinemas Innaloo during Country Week 2019.  Discounted tickets and food and beverage available for groups of 20 plus.  1 free adult/teacher free for every 10 students.  Please complete the booking form and return to Innaloo_bookings@evt.com.

The award procedure is as follows:

1) Each school involved in SHS Country Week has the opportunity to nominate a maximum of two female and two male students.

 

2) The nominated students must:

– portray positive images about road safety

– be developing leadership qualities in school and/or community activities,

– be attending Senior High School Country Week.

 

3) Each student nominated will be individually congratulated and receive a certificate of recognition at the Opening Ceremony.
