Who or what is School Sport WA?
School Sport WA is an organisation contracted by the Department of Education of Western Australia to safely and efficiently manage interschool, interstate and international competitive sporting opportunities for students attending all schools in Western Australia.
It currently manages 42 interschool sports, 32 interstate sports and up to nine international sports including the Pacific School Games. It is a not for profit organisation which is coordinated by a volunteer group of schoolteachers. It has two full time officers who are housed at the Education Department.
School Sport WA operates under the Department of Education policies and guidelines.
Who are School Sport WA members?
Any recognised school in Western Australia is a member of School Sport WA. Any teacher in any school is eligible to apply for any advertised position within the organisation.
Who is eligible to participate in School Sport WA programs?
Any student who attends an approved educational institution in Western Australia regardless of sector.
Does School Sport WA have credit card facilities for payment of accounts?
School Sport WA has credit card facilities. Payment can be made with Visa or MasterCard, over the phone or in person.
Does School Sport WA work closely with State Sporting Organisations?
Yes. It is a basic philosophy of School Sport WA to have the schools component recognised as part of the sequential development plan of the State association.
