Competition Specifics

SSWA / TWA SunSmart Triathlon Competition

Cost:

$25 for Individuals - paid on the day

$25 per team

$20 Novices

SSWA will invoice schools.

Individual entries are paid on the day.

Late entries may not be accepted due to field limits. Late entries will incur a  penalty fee.

The event will run from 9.00am - 2.00pm

Champion Lakes, Sports Island, Henley Drive, Champion Lakes WA

Proposed Event Times:

Race Briefing: 9.15am

Division 1: Juniors: Start 9.30am

Division 2: Intermediate: Start 10.00am

Division 3: Seniors: Start 10.30am

Division 4: Teams Triathlon: Start 11.30am

Division 5: Novice: Start 12.00pm

Event Information

Event Categories:

1.) State Team Selection

Junior 300 / 101/ 2

Intermediates 600 / 16 / 4

Seniors 750 / 21 / 5

The 2011 State Team will select athletes for 16 years and Over, 14/15 years and 12/13 years.

Individuals nominating for State Team selection should compete in Divisions 1, 2 or 3 (choosing the appropriate age group).

Age for competitors is as at 31 December in the year of competition.

Competitors MUST ride racing bikes only. No mountain bikes allowed.

2.) Novice Race 300 / 16 / 3

The Novice Triathlon division is for individuals who do not nominate for State Team selection. This event is suitable for students competing as part of their Physical Education Studies course.

Novice Race athletes should compete in Division 5.  Students must be 13 years or over to compete in this division.

3.) Teams 300 / 16 / 3

The Division 4 Teams Triathlon is provided for athletes to compete as a team consisting of one swimmer, one cyclist and one runner.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR SCHOOLS & INDIVIDUALS

1.)

Schools/parents must register their final complement of students at the SSWA tent upon arrival.

2.)

Forms signed by the Principal must also be submitted

3.)

Student race numbers will be available on the SSWA website 2 days prior to the competition. Students not allocated a number will need to check when registering.

4.)

Schools are responsible for numbering their students using black marker pen.

    • BOTH ARMS (UPPER OR LOWER DEPENDING ON STUDENT RACE WEAR)

5.)

Schools/Parents are responsible for checking student's helmets

NOMINATION PROCEDURE

How to Nominate:

Nominations are accepted from both Schools and Individuals.

 

Schools are able to nominate both teams and individuals - however only  teams are eligible to score points for the Champion School Award. See below under "Nominating Schools".

 

Individual Entrants or parents are able to nominate providing their school Principal is aware of their entry. Please complete the Individual nomination form.

 

Parents nominating must view the Parents Nominating for Individuals - Not a School Entry form.

 Nominating Schools

Step ONE: 

Schools Nominate on the form titled "School Nom Form"

 

Complete all details on the form - print a copy and press SUBMIT. A copy must be kept for your records or to present to your school Principal if required.

Step TWO:

All nominating schools must submit a name submission sheet whether they are nominating 1 individual or a team.

Click on the following link "School Teams Submission List" "School Individual Submission List" and you will view an Excel spreadsheet. Save this document to your computer. Type in your name lists in the required cells and save. Email this document to the Sport Coordinator by the 28th October 2011.

Step THREE:

Competitor numbers will be available on the School Sport WA website 2 days prior to the event. These will be emailed to the address indicated on your nomination form. Competitor numbers will be displayed on race day. It is essential you get the correct numbers for your competitors as all numbers are linked to the computerised results program.

Changes/Additions:

If you have changes or additions, simply email the School Sport WA office to inform them of the alterations. 

Do not make your own competitor number changes as this WILL affect the computerised results system.

Parents Nominating for Individuals - Not a School Entry
