Champion Schools Competition

Legends Cup

The WARL / ARL Development will coordinate the ‘Legends Cup’ competition in Term 1.

The competition will be run in a ‘Lightning Carnival’ format and based in junior rugby league districts and hosted by the local clubs.

Each district carnival will be named after the junior club – eg the “Joondalup Giants Legends Cup”.

The WARL / ARL Development and your local rugby league club will supply all equipment needed for the games. This includes all jerseys, rugby league balls, goal posts, referees and First Aid Officers. All referees and First Aid Officers will be accredited.

School Sport WA, in partnership with WARL will select a team to enter the National Primary School Rugby League Exchange for  2008. The ‘Legends Cup’ lightning carnivals are one of the selection opportunities for players.

Nominations must be received by week 4 Term 1

ARLD Cup - 'Rugby LeagueTag'

The 2008 ARL Development State Cup represents the pinnacle of Primary School Rugby League throughout Western Australia.

The Development State Cup is a lightning carnival based competition with qualifying carnivals held in each junior rugby league club district. These carnivals are organised through the local primary school cells groups (as part of the winter sports carnivals) and also as separate events organised and run by the WA Rugby League. These carnivals are held throughout Term 2. The district champions are invited to the ARL Development State Cup Final to be held in the latter part of Term 3.

All games are played in the LeagueTag format: a non-contact version of rugby-league utilising the Velcro-tag system. Teams are to be mixed-gender, with a minimum of 3 girls on the field at all times.
