Champion Schools Competition

The event is open to any primary or secondary student enrolled in any Government or Non Government school within the state. Courses involved competing through parks, trails and bush.

$6.00 per person (members) $12 pairs

$8.00 per person (non members) $16 pairs

Invoices will be sent by OAWA - Make cheques payable to Orienteering Association of WA

Car (up to 8 seats) $6.00

Small bus (9 t0 20 seats) $25.00 (Buses with fewer than 9 people will be charged the car rate)

Large Bus (21+ seats) $50.00

Free entry for buses from schools within the Shire of Mundaring.

Ranger will collect the fee at the Park entry gate.

Start times Event will commence at 10.00 am with runners sent at two-minute intervals.  The event will conclude with presentations at approximately 1.30 pm TBC
Divisions:

Primary

10yrs Girls, Boys, Pairs (2.0km)

11yrs Girls, Boys, Pairs (2.5km)

12yrs Girls, Boys, Pairs (2.5km)

Secondary

15 & Under Girls A Boys A (3.5km), Girls B Boys B (2.5km), Pairs (3.0km)

16 & Over  Girls A Boys A (4.5km), Girls B Boys B (3.5km), Pairs (4.0km)

Presentations

Awards will be presented to the first 3 placegetters in both individual and pairs categories.

 

To determine the Champion Primary and Secondary Schools, points will be allocated to the first five finishers in the individual A (male & female) category, the first three finishers in the individual B (male & female) and Pairs categories.

Points awarded

Individual A 1st - 10pts, 2nd - 8pts, 3rd - 6pts, 4th - 4pts, 5th - 2pts

Individual B 1st - 5pts, 2nd - 3 pts, 3rd - 1 pt

Pairs 1st - 5pts, 2nd - 3 pts, 3rd - 1 pt

Additional Information

One week prior to the Championships, participating schools and individuals will receive final instructions, including directions to the event, event information, control cards, control descriptions and a blank copy of the map for familiarisation. Schools will be provided with start times that will need to be allocated to their students.
