Champion Schools Competition

Netball provides competition for Open (years 10 -12), Year 10, and Lower School (years 8,9) divisions. In 2008 the competition will be conducted in two formats with schools nominating the format in which they will compete. Schools may nominate for Day Carnivals (for all divisions) conducted in Term 2 or Round Robin competition (for all divisions) run in Terms 1 and 2. The top two schools from each zone, in both formats, will progress to Interzone Finals that will be played as home & away games. Winners will then proceed to an Elimination Day Carnival. Country school winners will be invited to compete at this stage. The top two schools from each division of the Elimination Day Carnival will playoff in a Grand Final to determine the Champion School.

Cost:	$25 per team [SSWA will invoice schools]
Fixtures to Schools:	Round Robin - Friday 7 March Day Carnival - Friday 9 May
Day Carnivals:	South – Thursday 22 May 2008 - Fremantle Netball Association North – Tuesday 27 May 2008 - Wanneroo Districts Netball Association

*Interzone:*	Monday 9 June – Friday 20 June 2008
*Elimination day*	Friday 25 July 2008 - Fremantle Netball Association 9am – 2.30pm
*Grand Final:*	Wednesday 13 August 2008 - Arena Joondalup 1.15pm – 4pm
Format of Competition:	Schools to nominate the format in which they will compete for each division. (Schools do not have to be in the same format for all divisions) Day Carnivals – nominate the venue (all divisions compete on same day at each venue). To improve the quality of competition, a maximum of 4 school teams per division will be permitted. Schools with more than one team in a division are to have their strongest ranked team competing as their first team. Round Robin - Schools organised, where possible, in geographical groups of six. Top two schools from each zone, in both formats, compete in the Interzone Finals that will be played as home & away games. Winners progress to Elimination Day Carnival. It is recommended that teams consist of at least 10 girls.

	Lower: Years 8 & 9 (HS & DHS are permitted three Year 10 students in this division. Principal to sign verification form)
