GENERAL DETAILS

Country Senior High Schools Week is available to all Senior High Schools and previous participants as an annual event for country schools to participate in Basketball, Dance, Football, Hockey, Netball, Soccer, Speech & Debating, Touch and Volleyball. Girls AFL Football will be offered on a trial basis again in 2010.  See Bulletin 1 for further details

How much does it cost to participate?

Schools who compete in the carnival share the costs associated with its conduct. The figure payable is determined by the number of sports participated in and the costs associated with the conduct of that particular event.

All schools will be invoiced the following nomination fees prior to the event,

  • School nomination fee of $110

  • and $110 per nominated team

Please be advised that nomination fees are not refundable. Draft Invoices for total cost will be distributed prior to the event and will include your initial nomination costs and the DET travel subsidy which is determined by team size and distance travelled. It is recommended that schools budget ~$50 per individual student to cover the final administrative costs.

Where can I get more information?

On receipt of all nominations, bulletins and fixtures will be posted on the SSWA website. Please keep a regular check as amendments are frequently made to fixtures due to team nomination changes. We understand that sometimes team changes are impossible to avoid, however, we do urge you to keep your changes minimal so as not to disrupt the competition greatly or cause confusion with other schools.
