STEP BY STEP GUIDE TO INTERSTATE MANAGEMENT

Interstate Managers Handbook

This handbook is a key point of reference on all policy or procedural information with regard to interstate management. All coaches and managers should make themselves familiar with the contents of this handbook.

Action Plan Timeline

Once your appointment has been confirmed, a meeting must be scheduled to discuss your teams 'Action Plan Timeline'.  It will provide you with the tools to effectively manage your sport and to set a frame work for action within the dictates of that sport.

At this meeting you must also collect your deposit and receipt books in preparation for your trials.

Risk Management

You have already planned your trials and interested athletes will start checking out details to nominate early in the year. Principals will be reluctant to sign their nominations without adhering to current DET excursion policies. Therefore it is essential to complete a risk management document for all your trials to be published on the SSWA website with all nomination information.

Financial Matters

This section will provide you with everything you need financially from managing your trial money to finalising your budget. You will also be able to get information about sponsorship for your team!

A preliminary budget must be set prior to the initial parent evening and authorised by the SSWA office.

Squad Selection Letter

Once you have selected your 'Squad', it is the team managers responsibility to distribute a letter inviting all squad members and their parents to an evening to discuss final team acceptance.

Parent Evening

This is a key meeting scheduled in your ''Action Plan Timeline". A SSWA management member will be there to present parents with policy and return documentation and to filter any questions or concerns parents may have.
